The Annual Spiritus Award Luncheon is the lead fundraising event sponsored each Spring by the Social Service Auxiliary, a women’s support group for the Sisters of Social Service of Los Angeles. This beautiful event serves to bring its members, the Sisters and many friends and supporters together, to invite camaraderie, engagement and support of the Sisters, their many works and ministries.
Created just three short years after the SSS was founded in 1926, the Social Service Auxiliary has continued to provide life-giving friendship and important funding to the Sisters through many seasons of challenge and change. Each year, the Auxiliary presents an honoree with the “Spiritus Award” in recognition for their extraordinary example of upholding the values and mission of the Auxiliary, and the Sisters of Social Service, in the spirit of advocating peace and justice for the common good. Past Honorees include Mrs. Bob Hope, The William Hannon Foundation, Rob and Joanne Smith and the Doheny Foundation, Monsignor Clement Connolly, and many more.
This month, the Auxiliary is excited to present this year’s award to Roseann Anderson, a member of the Auxiliary for over 30 years, and a long-time Pasadena-area philanthropist. Read her bio below!
