The Sisters of Social Service are excited to offer two different summer camp experiences for campers of various ages!
| Camp Mariastella is an opportunity for campers to come together, recognize commonalities, and learn from each other through living together in a cooperative environment, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Girls and young women from all over Southern California have an opportunity to “be still and pause a while” in a scenic, safe environment, where listening, sharing, praying and growing happen naturally. Likewise, Regis House Community Center offers four weeks of summer day camp for campers ages 6-13 and a job experience for high school/college age students as day camp counselors. Campers are provided with many activities for fun, friendship, and field trips exploring the many areas in and outside of Los Angeles, and the opportunity to participate in 4-days and 3-nights of overnight camp. Because many of our campers come from low-income, at-risk families, your donation enables Camperships for these young campers, so that they can attend camp and gain positive experiences that enhance their social and emotional development. Our programs give them opportunities to exchange their inner-city neighborhoods for a safe, outdoors environment that teaches them leadership skills, coping skills, and self-esteem. Throughout their time many will undergo a miraculous change as a result of the activities and experiences they are exposed to. |
